Christmas Wedding

  1. I am planning a Christmas themed wedding and I'm worried that it will look tacky since I have a small budget. My colors and red, gold and white with a little bit of green thrown in. Other than that I'm not sure what to do. Any ideas on how to make it look more like a wedding than an office Christmas party?

  2. If you can't stramline the colors then first let's start with the bridesmaids. If it were me I would put thm in a dreass of one color with a sash or a schawl of the other and then find some way to put the other colors in their hair. As for the venue of the recption you could dress the tabls alternately in the various colors. I like your colors because they all have meanings which you could say is the reason red=love, gold=money, white=purity and green= luck so not only are you christmasy you symoblism in there. I hope I helped you in some small way. No matter what you do it'll look fine. Trust me.

  3. My best piece of advice is to really think about what you want then make it happen on your budget. The amount of money you spend does not mean it has to be tacky. Even weddings that thousands are spent on are still tacky!

You also don't need to have all of your colors in every element of the wedding. You can have you gown be white or ivory with gold accents, the bridesmaids in a rich red dress with gold accents on the gown or in their hair, use ever green swags to decorate, centerpieces that are red, gold, white and greenery.

  4. My oldest daughter had a christmas wedding. We didn't have to worry to much about the budget, which was $3,000, because the church she used was already decorated for christmas which helped out alot. We rented some candles and an arch and had a few large poinsettas and it was beautiful

  5. Sometimes places decorate their private rooms for the holidays already. So, all you'd have to do is get a nice floral or mini-tree with your colors. Check around. Don't know where you live, but I'd check out good-quality restuarants, clubs and catering halls. It doesn't hurt to ask and you can save a fortune. If you must do it yourself, there's tons of info on the website. Do a search for table runners. You can get say, red and gold runners in satin, over a white table cloth and green satin napkins. Do it with color, not necessarily design. You can get lovely arrangments make with pine leaves, berries and white flowers like tiger lillies. You may also want to do a "winter wonderland" theme with lots of snowflake accessories, silver and gold with touches of red and greenery. For favors, I'd give some beautiful wine stopper in black and silver which is elegant for the holiday and the coming New Year. Here's my fav links:
